What kind of facility is this? What services do you offer?

We are a long-term care facility, which means individuals must require 24-hour nursing care (essentially a nursing home for Veterans)

We do not offer assisted living or have any housing rentals
What documents do I need to process an application?

What are the eligibility requirements?

A recognized Veteran of the United States (Must provide copy of DD214)

Discharged for reasons other than “dishonorable”

Resident of the State of Hawaiʻi

Eligible for LTC (Physician certified)
How long do you need to be a resident of Hawaiʻi to be eligible?

Must have resided in Hawaiʻi prior to induction into the military or must have at least one year of residency in Hawaiʻi within one year prior to admission

Can my spouse live here too?

Eventually we will be open to Spouses and Gold Star Parents, but it will be based on available space

They will need to meet the LTC requirement

They will be allotted their own room. If their spouse is also a resident of the facility, we will try our best to have the rooms as close as possible but there is no guarantee

The Veterans Affair (VA) will not cover the cost of care
How much does it cost?

For Veterans with at least a 70% service connection, the VA will cover the cost of care
-
For Veterans with less than 70% service connection, as well as Spouses and Gold Star Parents, it will be private pay unless they qualify for LTC MEDICAID
